To me, when I see the new product of ALLNIC, every good result comes after brave front attract toward obstacles. For example, all DHT stages Phono Amp H-8000, all DHT line preamp L-8500, without any coupling devices, Capacitors, nor transformers, OTL/OCL pre amps, such as L-8500, L-9000 and L-10000. Vinyl lovers favorite choices, ALLNIC Phono Stages are all based on “Non Negative Feedback” type equalizer circuitry.

All new H-5500 is an entry model phono stage, officially, a successor of H-1202, but after long listening, it is a new class phono stage. Better S/N ratio from larger space and a new arrange of wiring, and a new current meter monitor shows all the time, the status of internal operation.

H-5500 has two MC inputs and two MM inputs, two, twine triode E180CC provide +38dB gain in MM, and an adjustable step-up transformer add more gains(+22dB, +26dB, +28dB and +32dB) RIAA equalization’s error is within (+,- 0.3dB) through CR filtering, two tubes, 7233 and 5654 take change of voltage stabilizer.

When connecting MC cartridges, step-up strengthens up from +22dB to +32dB gain, MM input’s load impedance is each +22dB(up to 278ohms), +26dB(117ohms), +28dB(69ohms) and +32dB(up to 29ohms).

Special reinforcement from H-1202 is power supply’s capacity, becomes double larger, with big power transformer and better Mu-metal shielding.

ALLNIC prefers EI power transformer to toroid one, because of its stability and better sonic performance.

Another ALLNIC’s clear breakthrough is its persistent “Non Negative Feedback” type RIAA equalizing method (LCR and CR both). Almost phono stages are “Negative Feedback Type” for its good S/N ratio and cost/performance. This feedback circuit is the most powerful tonal changer in all audio circuitries. For example, in same musical instrument reproduction, they apply different amount of feedback, so this same instrument seems a different one according to this its frequencies. “It’s too toxic to real musical reproduction”

On my testing room, Acoustic Solid Wood turntable, ALLNIC’s Rose MC cartridge, Pass XP-12 pre amp, electrocompaniet AW250R power amp, Devore fidelity Orangutan O/96 loudspeaker, ALLNIC H-5500 +28dB(29ohms) setting.

In Madeleine Peyroux’s ‘Take These Chains From My Heart’(The blue Room), H-5500 shows less noise and line grain sound than former H-1202, better warmth and better touch. In ‘Tarantella’ (Royal Ballet Gala Performance) Ansermet’ conduct on Royal opera House, H-5500 reveals better speed and pure sound without any coloration, no dust, clean and silent background and big scale.

In ‘Nardis’(At The Montreux Jazz Festival) of Bill Evans, there are perfect real stage and his very subtle piano touches, right side of his backstage, its drums pervade whole stages by crescendo and made me geese skinned, I saw several times my right loudspeaker.

H-5500 makes complete up-grade from H-1202’s incompleteness, Better Power Supply and Negative Feedback type RIAA equalization shows all its superior performance in H-5500, “A Revolt from the youngest little brother”
